Dynamos finally broke their duck under new boss Saul Chaminuka, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Yadah FC. The win, the Glamour Boys’ first since beating Simba Bhora 1-0 in March, brings a glimmer of hope to the DeMbare faithful as the team navigates one of the lowest points in its storied history.
Clive Mandivei’s header from close range just before halftime proved to be the decisive moment in the match. Dynamos had struggled to create clear-cut chances, with Frank Agyemang’s effort being disallowed for offside in the 39th minute. However, Vusa Ngwenya’s well-taken corner kick set up Mandivei’s crucial header, giving Dynamos a 1-0 lead at the break.
The second half saw Yadah FC dominate possession and push for an equaliser, but Dynamos’ task was made easier when Josiah Daka was sent off for a professional foul in the 76th minute.
With a numerical advantage, the Glamour Boys held on for the win, bringing immense relief to coach Saul Chaminuka, who celebrated his first victory at the helm.
The win sees Dynamos remain in 16th place with 14 points, level with Yadah FC. While there’s still a long way to go, this victory provides a much-needed morale boost for the team. Chaminuka will look to build on this momentum as Dynamos strive to turn their season around.
