Ask any footballer and they will tell you that few moments are as iconic as winning one’s maiden league title. For Prince Dube, the Zimbabwean forward, this moment arrived when his new club, Young Africans, secured the top-flight league championship in Tanzania after a 2 nilo win over Simba Sports Club on Wednesday.

The title win was not just a testament to the team’s dominance but also a personal triumph for Dube, who had taken a bold step to force a move from Azam FC to Young Africans.

Many questioned Dube’s decision to risk his football future by standing firm in his desire to leave Azam FC, but the striker’s conviction and determination have paid off in spectacular fashion. Dube seamlessly gelled into the Young Africans squad, becoming a vital player in their title-winning campaign. He hit the net 20 times in all competitions, showcasing his proficiency and importance to the team.

This success is particularly sweet for Dube, who had previously played for Highlanders, Supersport, and Azam FC without winning a league crown. His move to Young Africans has proven to be a masterstroke, and the title win marks a significant milestone in his professional career.

Having been a prominent part in the Warriors campaign, Prince Dube is expected to be part of the Warriors squad which will travel to Morocco for the Africa cup of nations in December. Though not quite as prominent in national colours Prince Dube will be hoping to strike the right chord and transfer his club form to the national team.

With his pace, fine ball control, and eye for goals, Prince Dube possesses the attributes that many defenders fear. As he looks to the future, Dube will be eager to build on this success and add more titles to his collection. His maiden title with Young Africans is just the beginning, and he will undoubtedly aim to cement his place as one of the most revered players in Tanzanian football history.
