Scotland FC surged to the top of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League standings after a decisive 2-0 victory over Caps United at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday. This commanding performance not only highlighted Scotland FC’s championship credentials but also thrilled the packed stadium, filled with fans eager to witness top-tier football.

The first half was a showcase of Scotland’s attacking intent, as they created several opportunities to break the deadlock. Walter Musona and Panashe Mutimbanyoka came tantalizingly close to finding the net, but their efforts were thwarted, leaving the scoreline tied at nil-all as the teams headed into halftime.

The breakthrough for Scotland FC came in the second half, thanks to a moment of brilliance from Khama Billiat. His precise through ball found Tymon Machope, who capitalised on the opportunity to open the scoring, much to the delight of the visiting supporters. The goal injected a surge of confidence into the team, setting the stage for further dominance.

Scotland FC sealed the victory when second-half substitute Sydney Urikhob showcased his poise and precision, tucking the ball home from inside the box. This goal not only secured the win but also underscored the depth of talent within the squad, as they successfully put the game beyond Caps United’s reach.

With this victory, Scotland FC ascended to the summit of the league with a perfect record, having collected six points from their opening two matches. As the only team yet to drop points, the Mabvuku outfit has firmly established themselves as early favourites in the title race.
