Zimbabwean forward Edmore Chirambadare brought the curtains down on the Betway Premiership campaign in style. Chirambadare’s equalising goal helped Magesi FC secure a point against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.
The game got off to a flying start, with Orlando Pirates taking the lead within seven minutes. Relebohile Mofokeng’s clever combination with Patrick Maswanganyi resulted in a beautifully executed left-footed shot that found the bottom right corner of the net.
Chirambadare however ensured that Magesi FC fought back into the game. Thabang Sibanyoni picked him out perfectly, and the Zimbabwean forward unleashed a powerful left-footed shot that beat Orlando Pirates’ goalkeeper Chaine Sipho into the bottom right-hand corner.
This goal not only earned Magesi FC a point but also marked a fitting end to Chirambadare’s season. The 2024/2025 campaign saw the forward score three goals across all competitions, including two in the league and one in the Nedbank Cup. With a tally of three goals and one assist to his name, Chirambadare will be looking to build on his performances as he heads into the next season.
Having begun his professional career with Tsholotsho FC, he went on to win the 2015 Zimbabwean PSL title with Chicken Inn before making a move to Kaizer Chiefs. Although his stint with Amakhosi didn’t yield the desired success, Chirambadare found his footing in South Africa’s second-tier league where he settled in at Magesi. The team earned promotion to the top flight in 2024, and Chirambadare’s debut season has been decent, to say the least.
With a solid foundation laid, Chirambadare will be eager to take his game to the next level in the 2025/2026 campaign
