The stage is set for thrilling midweek battles in the Northern Region Soccer league, with the battle for pole position taking centre stage. High-flying Agama FC, currently top of the log standings with 22 points, will face a stern test against Ngezi Platinum Stars U/19 at the Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro. Ngezi, buoyed by their 1-0 win over FC Oden in their last fixture, will pose a significant challenge to Agama, who will be urged on by their coach, Arthur Tutani, to secure a crucial away win and maintain their grip on top spot.
Meanwhile, second-placed N’ombeyawora, just a point behind Agama, will eye a victory against Trojan Stars at Rufaro Stadium that could propel them to the top of the log standings should Agama drop points. With 21 points to their name, N’ombeyawora will be looking to capitalise on any slip-ups by the log leaders.
In another intriguing matchup, third-placed Golden Eagles will face Zambezi G&C in a potential thriller. Golden Eagles will be hoping to take advantage of any slip-ups by the top two sides and close the gap.
Elsewhere, 7th-placed Harare City, 7 points behind the log leaders, will look to work their way up the standings when they take on Ali Sundowns at Gwanzura Stadium.
The midweek fixtures promise more excitement, with Struggling Chegutu Pirates hosting Cranborne Bullets, while MWOS under 19 welcome Banket United. Other matchups include Karoi United vs Black Mambas, Shamva FC vs Chinhoyi Stars, and PAM FC vs FC Oden at Muriel Stadium.
